Purpose of Role: To work closely with the Executive Director and the other committee members to plan, organize and implement Hike for Hospice. 
Hike for Hospice raises funds for Doane House Hospice and Margaret Bahen Hospice to ensure individuals and family members living with a life-threatening illness receive hospice services at no charge. This year's event takes place on Sunday May 6, 2018 at Fairy Lake, Newmarket, Ontario 
- Attend weekly/biweekly meetings 
- Solicit sponsors and prices 
- Solicit hike participants 
- Marketing and promotion of the hike 
- Plan logistics, food 
- Setting up and taking down of event 
- Work as a team player with staff and volunteers

Office Team Volunteers are needed to work on administrative tasks such as: 
- Mail outs 
- Answering Telephones 
- Assembling client and volunteer information packages 
- Placing reminder calls 
- Data entry 
- Entering of statistical information 
- Helping with fundraising activities and other short and long term projects as they arise
Assist in a variety of social and recreational programs. The role of a Rec Buddy is a social one - to be a friend, socialize with the participants, engage them in conversation and help them with a variety of recreational activities, encourage and cheer them on and generally assist staff as needed. Must be comfortable in the water.
