Description The Markham Environmental Advisory Committee (MEAC) is comprised of a group of volunteers that provides advice to Council on environmental policy, planning, and sustainability, and promotes environmental awareness within the community.

Posts or Events Every year, MEAC works with the City of Markham and Markham Councillors to host its annual rotary Earth Day celebration. 
Participants at the Earth Day events include: 
-Educational institutions 
-Environmental outreach individuals and groups 
-Government organizations 
-Local businesses and organizations 
-Markham Libraries 
Along with the exhibitors, the Earth Day event hosts its much anticipated sub-events: animal show, face painting, Rock the Bike, tree sapling giveaway, and e-waste collection. 
You can also find MEAC at some of Markham's environmental events, such as Earth Hour and Rouge Days. Subcommittees comprised of MEAC members are often formed for committee and City of Markham events and projects.
