Description & Services
Description Advises and assists Council on heritage related matters as well as matters relating to buildings and areas of architectural and/or historical significance * establishes criteria for approval by Council, for the evaluation of properties of architectural and/or historical value or interest * prepares, maintains and submits to Council a list of properties and areas worthy of conservation * advises Council on current heritage conservation legislation and to assist Council in the preparation of municipal legislation to conserve heritage properties and areas * implements programmes and activities, as approved by Council, to increase public awareness and knowledge of heritage conservation issues * advises and assists Council on all matters relating to Parts IV and V of The Ontario Heritage Act
