Description This site, featuring four unique gardens, including a rock and water garden * over 1,500 species of plants and flowers, and countless insects * horticulturalists and photographers alike will delight in the garden sculptures, flowers in full bloom and impressive array of vibrant colours * designed by David Tomlinson, a landscape architect, to create a series of gardens within a garden. Enclosed by high cedar hedges, each garden has its own distinct character and a series of arches invite the visitor from one garden to the next * features within the garden include woodland beds, a fern walk, alpine garden with scree beds, bog beds, and frog pond. Stone walls enclose raised beds of scented flowers, herbs, heritage shrub roses, and a thyme lawn * winter garden and know garden were added in 1988
Dates The garden is open on the following days:  
 
2nd Saturday in May: features freshly blooming spring bulbs, wildflowers, and scree 
2nd Saturday in June: featuring the fragrant garden, thyme lawn, iris, and peonies 
 
The visits are free of charge.
