2. Liaisons with appropriate departments for room allocation, dietary needs and entertainment resources 
3. Contacts volunteers to assist at party; assigns specific responsibilities during the party 
4. Acts as hostess at party – as M.C. introduces guests, entertainers 
Note: this can be a revolving position due to the number of Latvian religious congregations’ Ladies Auxziliaries (Dâmu Komitejas) who like to be involved in these events

Church Services Volunteer [ More info  ]  
1. Prepare the altar area which may include: 
• set – up of chairs and podium as per the Residents’ requirements 
• lighting the candles 
• arranging the flowers 
• switching on and off the pot lighting and water fountain 
2. Assisting interested Residents to the service from all floors 
3. Distribution of the hymn books and assisting Residents to turn the pages when requested

Crisis and Palliative Care Volunteer [ More info  ]  
1. Sits by the bedside of Resident who is in a crisis situation or actively dying and possibly semi-conscious 
2. Comforts Resident according to needs as determined by physician, family and nursing staff, i.e.; holds Resident’s hand, talks to Resident, performs simple tasks as assigned by nursing staff 
3. Notifies nursing staff if there is a change in the Resident’s condition

1. Confer with Program & Support Services Manager to arrange for use of Craft Room / Kitchenette availability, supplies, and volunteers. 
2. Direct the process and production and instruct where required 
3. Estimate costs of produced foods if requested; for sale to raise funds for KD

1. Participate in the process and production of foods under direction of the Culinary Arts Leader 
2. Assist in the clean up of work areas 
3. Be prepared to assist in the sale of produced foods

Fish Pond Maintenance Volunteer [ More info  ]  
1. Feed goldfish daily – this duty can be designated to an interested Resident or staff member  
2. Confer with KD’s maintenance staff re: cleaning and maintaining of the pond and adjacent rockery 
3. Check status of fishes’ general health and apply medications when necessary  
4. Properly discard any decayed fish material

3. NEVER leave your pet unattended with Residents
