Volunteer Puppeteer [ More info ]
Using a life size puppet the volunteer will perform within a group to children in a school environment. There are two elementary plays that explain in a holistic way the changes and feelings that a child experiences when they have cancer or another serious illness. The program works with the school's curriculum incorporating character development, focusing on the virtues of compassion, courage, respect, kindness and helpfulness. The puppeteers do not have to speak during the performances as the scripts have been prerecorded onto a CD using children's voices. The puppets then lip sink to the CD. Our volunteers really enjoy the program and have fun both as a group and with their young audiences. It is a very worthwhile and rewarding program.

Leaders in Training for Summer Camp 2013 [ More info ]
What are YOU doing this summer?
Looking for a fun way to keep in touch with theatre but learning to be in a leadership role?
We are currently looking for Leaders in Training (LIT’s) for our summer camps for children age 6-13.
Successful candidates understand that there is no fee to take part and that this is also a volunteer position. High school volunteer hours will be granted for this contribution to our camps.
Interested participants must submit a resume to Sheryl Thomas (via email at info@marqueetheatricalproductions.com) outlining any experience in the following: child care or babysitting, theatre, music, dance, swimming, first aid and past employment (if any). Candidates must be at least age 14 to take part in this program.
Each participant must commit to at least one (1) two-week camp so that the children can get used to seeing the same faces around.
We hope to hear from you!
