Information and referral service linking the South Asian community in York Region to service providers targeting newcomers, families, and youth. SSN aims to provide culturally sensitive assistance in various languages to the South Asian Community in York Region. NEWCOMERS: settlement services, employment services, ESL courses, legal assistance through community legal aid clinics, citizenship participation, housing. FAMILIES: parenting courses, intergenerational counselling, family violence (incl. spousal/elder/child abuse), mental health services (counselling and addiction services), seniors' programs/assistance, financial counselling/assistance, family/women's support groups, housing. YOUTH: educational issues, job search assistance, counselling services/financial assistance, mental health assistance, health issues, mentoring programs, peer support groups, issues related to violence, legal aid, career exploration.
