| Description | The following services are provided: DENTAL AND NUTRITION SERVICE: Dental screening for all York Region children, The Children in Need of Treatment (CINOT) program, Ontario Works dental programs, and educational programs in schools FAMILY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH: Offers a broad range of health and disease prevention programs and services including injury prevention, workplace wellness, road safety, chronic disease prevention, reproductive health including prenatal classes (some offered in Cantonese), child health and early detection of cancer, smoking cessation programs, drop in postnatal support groups HEALTH PROTECTION: Promotes health and safety through inspection, enforcement, education and prevention. Programs include beach water sampling, health hazard investigation, indoor air quality, infection control, playground safety, pool safety, rabies control, safe water program, West Nile Virus, No-smoking By-law education and enforcement INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONTROL: Sexual health clinics and programs, immunization services and travel information, investigation and control of infectious diseases. YORK REGION HEPATITIS C CHAPTER meets monthly for support and information at Markham location | |||
