| Description | Since 1971, Markham Museum has offered a unique family and educational experience, on 25 acres of parkland, featuring over 20 historic buildings and a new LEED Gold standard Collections Building. Representing the main themes of settlement, as it relates to the environment, and the technologies used to adapt to life, the Museum’s many quality programs focus on the ongoing growth of our community. The Museum’s exhibitions and events also aim to engage the community as a whole and attracts over 50,000 visitors to Markham and the Greater Toronto Area each year. | |||
| Hours | The Museum is closed New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Simcoe Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Monday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day
Victoria Day to Thanksgiving (Summer Season) Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. All exhibits, daily scheduled tours of our open-air museum, mini golf, heritage gardens, pond and wetlands, and apple orchard. Research facility by appointment. Thanksgiving to Victoria Day (Fall/Winter Season) Tuesday to Sunday: 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. Closed Mondays (Special events, camps & pre-registered groups excepted) All exhibits open, daily scheduled tours of our open-air museum. Research facility by appointment. Please note that the children's little train ride only runs on special events and closes down for the Fall/Winter. | |||
