| Description | Provides a comprehensive range of community support services for the Chinese Senior community information and referral transportation * friendly visiting interpretation * security programs community education * volunteer programs * Services include: * Home Support Services and case management: promotes and achieves personal wellness of Chinese seniors community based support services * Support Housing Services: enables Chinese seniors to lead an independent life integrate into the community * Wellness Education & health promotion: prepare seniors to live their elderly years to the fullest in their own homes * Social Support Network Services: enables seniors to retain and expand their social circle and participate actively in community life link up frail or homebound seniors and their caregivers with wider social support network helps reduce social isolation * Wellness Club: social club for Chinese Seniors builds on concept of wellness and encourages individual seniors to pursue a high level of wellness through the understanding of the importance of holistic health and total well-being (physical & psychological) and to integrate the wellness practice into their everyday life * Community Awareness & Volunteer Mobilization: promotes community awareness of Chinese seniors' needs for support services advocate issues relating to social service polices programs for seniors mobilize individuals to serve as volunteers * The Bridging Project: helps to enhance the cultural exchange and competency of the local service community in serving the Chinese community * Alternate Location: * York Region Community Services Centre: 420 #7 East, Unit104A, Richmond Hill, 905-771-3700. | |||
