DescriptionYRDSB’s International Co-op Program integrates classroom learning with hands on work experience via either: the Costa Rica Summer International Co-op (CRsum) program providing 2 Co-op credits for four weeks in the summer (July – August) that includes one week preparation in York Region and three weeks placement in Costa Rica and a group oriented Cooperative Education work placement with a sea turtle nesting conservation project plus one or more of: community development, ecotourism and wildlife rehabilitation; or, the International Cooperative Education to Ecuador (ICE) program providing 3 “4U” grade 12 credits and 3 Co-op credits for 20 weeks (February – June) in individually oriented Co-operative Education work placements in the fields of: agriculture, animal care, education, health care, small business or social work in Ecuador, plus first semester activities.
